I find myself in the minority of readers that have given this book a two-star rating. It was an easy read, albeit somewhat fatuous. Ms Bagshawe can write a pacy story and she writes well, but the rivalry between two intensively career-minded young ladies felt overly exaggerated and very cheesy.
The sex scenes added nothing to any of the story and while trying to depict the two main characters as independent and totally career-minded, nothing-gets-in-their-way types, their sexual dependence actually belittled their strong characters.
As for the name dropping of every known clothing designer label on practically every page of the book, became singularly annoying.
Nevertheless, M&As were very well researched and portrayed and if you like Chick-Lit Ms Bagshawe can certainly tell a good tale....
My first book by this author but I am not tempted to try another. Reply
